Im cheap and dont wanna buy a ls3 cover or drill and tap the DoD ports , so i took a push rod, cut into 8 sections , tac welded the end , prob could use jb weld if dont have a welder .. and drove them in the dod ports.. very tight fit , didnt have to hit them to hard tho .. there deffinelty snugged in and arnt moving ,, thought i share ..

my concern would be, being an interference fit and hammering them in....where did the metal shavings end up going (down into the oil passages)

 

for all that you should have pulled the cam and the pan then used a tap set to put brass plugs in
