not sure what this has to do with E85...the lifters are different between DOD motors and non DOD motors, yes.

If I have a flex Fuel 5.3 motor and don't use E85 can I have it tuned for 93?

I was thinking about the cam swap issues with the dod lifters. I wonder if they used just a regular style lifter for the ff motors.

I have a 2008 Silverado with the iron 5.3 non flex fuel and have an E85 station right by my home. I would like to run E85 if I could. I have HP tuners available. What do I need to change in order to make this work?

get the bigger flex injectors, and have the computer flashed accordingly, thats if your gonna run e85 all the time. if switching back and forth, you might need the fuel sensor, not sure if they come on all trucks or just flex ones, prob just flex ones but i rem hearing its expensive..

From my reading here I understand that the GMT900 flex fuel trucks DO NOT use the optical ethanol sensor. I guess that was the older GM trucks. Here are my concerns:
  • Fuel Injectors, what size and where to acquire OEM ones cheap
  • Fuel pump module, are they the same
  • Fuel rail and fuel delivery (lines, o-rings, etc.)

All cars built today are compatible with e85, all cars have been since they started mixing it in the mid80s.. Not sure about the fuel pump, i assume its the same and im sure it can handle the little bit bigger injectors. also ive seen flex injectors on here for sale sometimes, so keep ur eye open..

I run my GTO at a Stoich AFR value of 9.76514 straight across the table. No other changes were made. Any power enrichment is handled elsewhere.

Your 2008 Silverado probably only has one line in the table starting about 15.5.

You can check out www.E85Performance.net for more information.

So has anyone gotten the fuel composition sensor to work on a non-ff factory truck? Is there any way to use the o2 sensor method of ethanol measuring on a 2002 pcm?
