Default Code p1174 and p1175

Got a 2008 gmc sierra 2wd 4.3 v6 only 51thousand miles just got truck drove it a few times then out the blue got these 2 codes I did put a different gas cap on it I've since put old one back in can't imagine that's it but truck runs shifts idils fine I've hooked up a scan code there is 0 misfires in the Past 10 starts so I'm at a lost to know what's going on cleaned my mass air flow sensor as well it came back again any ideas I've also just put in injector cleaner but haven't drove it since to see if code comes back

Most likely your o2 sensors need to be replaced

Unlikely that you need all 4.

I'd clear the codes and see if they come back. I'd watch your fuel trims and see what the values are if you have a live data scan tool.

Put all new c02 sensors in except one whoever put it in last messed the threads all up now can't get new one in and I don't want strip threads on new sensor any ideas

Take it to a dealer tell them to reflash the PCM there is a TSB with this code and solution is reflash PCM. Chances are as low mileage as that truck is it's never been updated. Also ask them to update the TCM. 08's just had update after update after update for bugs. They were great trucks but loads of first year calibration gremlins solved by updates. And depending on where you got 02s and brand purchased I would put your OE o2s back in they are way better quality than the trash you buy at parts houses now day's.

2008 Chevrolet Silverado
2008 GMC Sierra

with 4.3L Engine (VIN X - RPO LU3)

Condition

Some customers may comment that the Service Engine Soon (SES)/Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is illuminated. Technicians may find Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1174 Fuel Trim Cylinder Balance Bank 1 set.

Cause

This condition may be caused by calibration sensitivity.

Correction





A revised calibration has been developed to address this condition. Technicians are to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) using the Service Programming System (SPS) with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the Engine Control Module Programming and Setup (Gasoline Engines) and Service Programming System (SPS) procedures in SI for more information. As always make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.

How much will that run me? And will it hurt to just run it as is?
