is the standard GM fluid synthetic? any other recommendations on non-synthetic fluid?

thanks james. sad news though, gears wont be in for ok4wd, so that probably means im not gona go. still up in the air.

Don't quote me, but i think they say not to use synthetic fluid due to the clutches on the posi. I guess it causes it to slip

I know they tell you not to run synthetic fluid in built trannys either.

Any basic GM gear oil will be fine

just run stock fluids. They aren't sysnthetic.

sweet thats what i figured. was gona branch out and use royal purple instead of stock fluids, but ill just use good old GM stuff.

The Truetracs don't have clutches, they are gear driven. The Eaton LSD's have springs and cluth packs and require a special additive to the gear oil to eliminate clutch chatter.
