Most of the folks I have spoken to are saying 550ish or less at the wheels is safe but the weight and power adders can affect that number.

if we were to destroy a 6l80e... will a 6l90e swap right in???

is it like a 4l60e and a 4l65e... just a lil better internals????

It is stronger. More clutch discs per pack and widers gears make it a tad longer as well.

Kale iirc the 6l80 and 6l90 are two different transmissions... to my knowledge the 90 is not a reworked 80

Says limited 6 month warranty at the bottom of the page. One of the main issues on the 6L80's is the tune. Get the tune off and you are asking for more problems. I don't blame them on their warranty position and even more so if they aren't the ones who tune it.
