Default Cam spec dechiphering

Looked up cam specs on lmg today it says .283 i/o for non dod lobes .289 i/o for the dod lobes.... That doesnt make any sense and thats from gm....

Multiply that by rocker ratio and that's actual lift.
.283 x 1.7 = .481

ok that makes sense now,,,, thanks!! so to put a lq9 cam in there would actually be a step backwards??? or are the durations different on the lmg vs lq9

I wouldn't bother with any of the stock truck cams. They are all so close it's pointless imo

trying get the dod out of it and have a lq9 cam in really good shape, not looking for anything over the top its for the yukon, which is the family roadtrip vehicle but this dod is pontless anyway running 75-80 down the interstate last few days the truck hardly ever goes into 4 cylinder mode anyway!!! thought maybe if i could run the lq9 cam with a set of non dod lifters, i could get rid of the dod somewhat inexpensively!!!

Stock dod delete then yes the LQ9 cam is the best bang for the buck.

Cool i found a bit of a hookup on lifters cheap!!! Kinda leary because theyre melling, but i havent had any issues with one of mellings other stuff, so may just run em....

LS7 kit is only 135ish. Please replace the lifter trays they are dirt cheap
How much are the ones you are getting? Are they long stroke or short? Idk much about their lifters.

The lifters are supposed to be direct replcement for ls7s.... Ill get all 16 for right at $40..... Gonna have to replace the trays deleting dod. And i have an lq9 cam....i can get a 4.8/ls3 top plate for about 35.... Ill have maybe $150 into deleting dod by time its all said and done......

The melling look identical to a set of gm lifters, ill be a guinea pig on this one.....
