Did you do anything to protect it after ie: clearcoat? I want to do this to mine but I worried that polishing the coating off would make it corrode.

No i just polished it I didn't do anythig else. Hell I even sanded it smooth and got rid of the little seem weld that was running all the way down. Been like that for about 7-8 months now and still looks the same. I go back every now and then with never dull just to clean it but no corosion at all. Allgonoshow here you go buddy... Nothing special lol
