As for the rest of the thread, I'm surprised how little power is coming out of these engines with the mods some folks have. The 6.2 is a beast of an engine but needs headers, tune, CAI, Exhaust, and cams to run in the 13's? That just surprises me with the cubic inch size to start with. I think GM needs to invest in some torque classes for their engine builders to give common folks a bit more in stock form. Of course it goes without saying that this is simply my opinion, but I never understood a truck/SUV in the full size arena that has more power than torque, stock or modified. Just makes no sense to me. I guess that's why I liked the Titan so much. In stock form with just WOT turned off I would beat just about anything light to light. But alas, I like my Yukon and have never been brand loyal to anyone. I buy the best truck I can afford for what I need. The Yukon was it this time.
My truck was 14 flat with just replacing the muffler, drop in filter and a tune. I'm sure with a little more work it would have made it into high 13's.

Ok, that's more like it. I remember running against an 08 Denali at the track and with CAI only he ran 14.6 or something like that. I didn't think it would take too much more to drop down to the low 14's. I was reading some of the sigs and times on here and was just surprised at some of the times for the mods done is all. Thanks ak2007.

I've run 14.3 with nothing but a tune, not a single bolt-on, and I'm a 5,600 lb extended cab 4x4 with too many accessories, a 2.25" front lift and 33" tires.

I absolutely love the 6.2!

very nice. 5600lbs? Wow, that's a heavy extended cab. Don't even care about the lift and 33" tires, that's just crazy. Was that with you in it? The lift couldn't have been more than 100lbs unless it's something crazy and 33" tires is almost standard these days so unless they were mudders and heavy aftermarket wheels, your truck was just a pig... hahahaha. My Titan was at 5600 with me in it and I had 33's and no weight reduction and I thought i was heavy... The Yukon is 5700 with me in it.

Regardless, that's a time I thought I would see for most if not all 6.2's. Thanks for posting.

You're right, it is a pig, even though that 5,600 was with 200 lb of me sitting in it. The tires are 285/70 BFGs and they're just over an inch taller and wider than stock, I don't know how much heavier they are. The lift isn't heavy at all but with that plus the tires I'm a lot taller which hurts me at the fast end of the strip from the extra air resistance - at up around 95 mph it makes a difference.

I've also got skid plates, 6" oval side steps, Line-X, hard aluminum tonneau, yadda yadda yadda. Oh, yeah, and my iPod in the console!

yeah, that stuff adds up though real fast. those 285/70's probably aren't much more than stock weight. I'm guessing around 60-65lbs each. Regardless, extra skid plates, side steps, that aluminum tonneau, and your Ipod of course probably adds a couple hundred pounds. With some weight reduction you'd be well into the 13's. Did you run with the tailgate and spare when you went to the track as well?

Tailgate was on but I left the spare, toolbox and a bunch of other junk at home for that run at 5,600 lb. Time before that, I had all that crap in the truck and my son riding along and we were 5,900. Not a good run ....

I never claimed I went 12 anything. Please show me where I said i did. You seem to have a problem with me, you are putting words into my mouth. I don't like it. You think I'm jealous cause your truck went 12's? Seriously? You think you've accomplished a milestone cause you ran a 12? Post the time slip, the video, the date, tear your motor apart and show me.

Once again, lets race. I know, you sold it. You know what I'm getting at now?

No need to race. He has posted what his truck ran (even if he doesn't own it anymore), you have not.
