They last a fair amount. Considering all the guys doing that with them are beating the ever loving **** out of them.. I doubt alot of BUILT set ups will hold up to 100s of passes on 20 lbs of boost. Just saying for stock items they are retarded. So even a mild smaller cube set up with good rings, rods would be way cheaper, make more power then a 27 build. Was just looking at it $ per power.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't your brother's 5.3 have the cathedral port heads? What would need to be changed to make it fit? I ask because seeing maggies for sale for those setups I always wonder what it would take to make it fit my 6.2

Cant beat boost for all out speed but it comes with its share of compromises. Keep in mind a lot of those full tilt turbo 5.3's and 4.8's arent exactly lag free as well ya know. For a badass street brawler that gets it done every time? Cant beat na cubes far as im concerned.
Although im a HUGE fan of the LS7, im not really liking it as a truck engine its a fair pain to get one of those in to a swap without major hassles. Id build a stroker, as much cubes as you can afford ( Dart block? ) but id keep the stroke under some limits so I could run a conventional style piston, BIG *** bore, MAST square port heads or similar. I'd aim for max cubes, and max reliability.
Should be able to plow well past 500whp and get GOBS of torque with the right combo. 14K should be enough to put together something wicked too....

My turbo 6.2 is completely stock, and drives just like it with the exception of slightly lower fuel mileage. It will stomp a 427's guts out. You can't build enough cubes with daily driver manners to outrun boost. Reliability remains to be seen, but it's at 13,000 and counting.
