Thats correct, I talked to 2 different techs and they confirm this. The new Vettes, however, DO store calibrations. (thats what they said)

The GMT900's have the same PCM's as the new vettes.

Now that's funny! If u have a dealer who's willing to work w/ you. Otherwise, they'll be...

As far as what the new PCMs store, I remember that thread. But, I also thought the reason that what the PCM stores (or doesn't) regarding reflashes was brought to light by a case in CA. IIRC, the dude had tweaked his ride, & fragged some part(s). GM brought some engineer types in, they looked @ the "black box", & the judge denied the man's claim. GM won. Now, if that's the case, he must not have reflashed before takin back to dealer for service. Thoughts?

My thought is if you reflash the ECM and or tcm it's only gonna know what's flashed to/on it

Ive fried my share (7+) 4l60e's and one FLT level 5 with the help of a small fluid leak and my 6.0, but I cant believe Ive smoked one on a pretty much stock 4.8 WTF is the deal. These transmissions SUCK. I did ask am ex-Chevy transmission tech and he said it wasnt uncommon while cold, but I still think thats BS. I figured Id have a new trans before 25k miles, but never figured before 10k
Do you currently have a tune, cause if you don't, you can just jump over the border to longview (not sure where your located in LA) and my brother will tune it for you. He did a trans tune on mine and it shifts great now.

I beleive the stock tranny tune lets it slip a little when cold to get it up temp faster.
Don't sell your kids on that, but I think that is the case.
My 07 nnbs did it and my 08 does it, but 4l70e in both cases.

I cannot confirm or deny whether or not a tune may or not be installed in any part or component of my truck. I can say I am part owner of a HPtuners cable that will not work on GEN IV GM vehicles, and can say that I may or may not have friends with cables that will work with GEN IV vehicles

Thanks. I had a tech tell me it wasnt uncommon. Doesnt make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but I guess it makes me feel a little more confident it isnt quite ready for the first replacement

Once you have driven around and warmed up the fluid it should go away though
