Anyone do the hydroboost setup on the nnbs 1500s?

Interested in swapping over to a hydroboost setup so I can hold a little more boost on the line and to make a little more room for my driver side downpipe. Also of coarse for better braking and for the big brake kit later on down the road. Anyone do the hydroboost swap on the nnbs 1500s yet? Looks pretty straight forward. Was looking at my buddies 2012 6.0 3500 hydroboost setup when I installed the Procharger for him and looks as if its a direct swap.

In 07 they switched to a rack and pinion. The fittings are a little different, you will have to make some custom hoses or have the ends cut off and rewelded. I believe there is thread about it where a guy said he couldn't find that fitting he needed

are the 07+ hd not rack and pinion too?
|
No they're still pitman/idler arm configuration.

Hmmm good thing where I work I can make custom crimped hoses and fittings. I'll have to look into it more. Same basic routing tho right? How do the guys with the older 2wd rack and pinion trucks do it?

Converting the lines won't be bad, but nobody seems to knows what it will take to tune out the brake booster vacuum sensor, or what effect it will have on the ABS and transmission settings. Keep us posted if you find the answer.
I posted all the part numbers you may need in a thread several months ago. These NNBS hydro-boost parts are significantly cheaper than the previous generation and if you use the hoses I recommended you should be able to splice them to your rack fittings without much trouble. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...t-nnbs-494015/ |
Cool thanks. Quick little theory tho what if you just put that vacuum sensor to a vacuum port off the intake?
