Only one trip towing so far. I pulled my 18' boat (1,500 lb on the trailer) to the coast and back in 55-60 degree weather and light rain. I didn't even bother to look at the trans temp because of the easy conditions - it wasn't much of a test for anything except maybe the tired-*** driver.

I can easily get to 180s with light driveing after about 30minutes in this heat. I haven't done any towing but 210* comes as no surprise to me. In fact mine got up to 200* while Nelson was street tuning mine.

I was under the impression that the 6-speed with the new Dexron VI fluid was able to handle higher heat than the old 4-speed.

The impression I've gotten is that the 6speeds are infact meant to run warmer and the dex6 probably does hold up better. That said I still intend to keep the temps in the 160-180s since the seals and clutches are probably at just the same risk of cooking.

I was just picking my boat up from the dealership today and noticed mine got up to
208. Seems kind of high to me. It was only a 22' boat that weighs around 3500lbs.
