the thing about these new speeds is that they need alot of attention while tuning . they are plenty strong in stock form, but tuning needs to be dead on

The highest hp rating I have seen for a 6l80-90 is 1200 rwhp and that's from PATC, who claim it will take that abuse all day. There way of accomplishing this is by modifying the 1-3 gear with beefed up power glide parts. I really don't know how this is done as there really isn't much info at all on them. Not to mention I couldn't find anyone using one so who knows.
I know Jannetty Racing, East Coast superchargers, and New Era has been using their 6L80 stuff and ran alot of 9.xx passes and they are living. The key I am told by a GM Insider is the tune, and they have apparently nailed it. I spoke with a Sonnax Engineer last month and he indicated they were actually consulting them about logic control. When I called about my 4L60 in my truck they were trying to get me to convert to the 6L80, they are launching a kit and looking for guys with 6,000 to do the conversion....... Out of my league

What about adding a 3rd pedal to the left and banging gears yourself they hold up well in vettes and camaros? Good clutch and pressure plate would get you pretty far for your $$$ and having a stick nnbs would be pretty sweet too!!
