No you can infinitely flash the bcm but if it's not uplevel the tu/td switch will not function.

But the 6 speed tu/td capability is only available via the uplevel bcm. If you have an slt or ltz or power fold mirrors it already has the uplevel BCM

It's a internal software difference.

Forgot to add you do have to reflash the radio for the donor VIN and you will lose your XM radio because that module cannot be reflashed. If you want xm you either gotta get a new un programmed xm module or go aftermarket sat radio and adaptor route.

Anyone know if the output shaft on the 6L90e is the same as the 6L80e? I dont believe it is and Id probably have to go with a HD electric tcase but I have no idea if my half ton autotrac rotary switch can make the HD case function. Would be cool to swap in the a 90e instead for the added strength since this thing is going to get a bit of power put through it eventually

I will at some point once I actually start doing something worthwhile. Thusfar my mods have been very utilitarian and not very exciting. Headers and exhaust is next then the trans swap then a whole top end refresh then a spinny thing in the exhaust

6L90E as a 4X4 is a 29 spline output shaft and the 6L80E is a 32. No that isn't backwards either.....

Make sure the spinny thing is up front in the engine compartment not out back by the rear axle..........those rear mounted spinny things suck, been there, half reworked the kit and sold it off (of course it was a C5 application not a truck but it sucked horribly, total dyno queen)
