Default 6.2L swap help

I see the topic of swapping the 5.3L for the 6.2L come up often. The 5.3L from the latest trucks and 6.2L both use a 58x reluctor wheel, so that won't be an issue. I have a couple of questions to better understand what this swap involves.

1. Do the crew cab and denali have heavier duty parts such as the radiator and rear end, motor mounts, etc.
2. Does anyone know exactly what extra parts are required to do the swap and the actually process to do it.

I am assuming that computer issues would be the biggest obstacle. It would be awesome if there was a guide to help with this swap.

I wouldn't think it would be too tough, because you can buy a new 1/2 ton crew with a 6.2L

If you're keeping the 4L60E this would be pretty much a straight swap with some computer tuning changes which would be very simple.

You say you have done this swap big red? Does it require a different computer or the computer to be programmed? Is there any modifications when going from the 4 speed to the 6 speed? Elaborating on the swap you did would be awesome.

ok the truck started up with 5.3 coumputer, its geting tuned now but my friend took both coumputers so icant tell you wich one he uses. Then you need the 6.2 trans member because the trans mount doesnt bolt up, because its slants were it bolts up. So were trying to get a cross member 100$ or modify the old one. As soon as we fix that he should dyno it, just make sure to use the 6.2 engine harness.

Is that really all there is to it? Does the 6.2L wiring harness just simply plug into the existing connections in the truck or do you have to modify the wires? Did the computer automatically pick up the 6 speed transmission? Please keep me posted on the progress.

Yes, please keep me up to date. It sounds like you will know the exact procedure and that should make my life a little easier when I do the swap.
