6.2 Exhaust question
#1
I had an 03 Silverado 1500 4X4 extended cab for several years and did all the standard engine upgrades like heads, cam, shorty headers, cat back, etc. The truck served me well
. I sold it and ordered/purchased a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 4X4 extended cab, All Terrain with the 6.2 engine and 6 speed auto. Still in the process of breaking it in. So far the engine seems pretty healthy
. I will probably start down the mod trail again. The first thing that got my attention was the larger sized exhaust. I measured the exhaust pipe and it appears to be just under 3 1/2 inches (outside diameter). However, I noticed a short resonator just behind the axle in addtition to the large muffler. Has any one removed the resonator? If so, how does the exhaust sound without it? Right now the exhaust sounds much better than the standard 5.3 liter exhaust system. I would think that removing the resonator should deepen the exhaust sound a bit and flow a little better. Any thoughts?

removing the resonator wouldn't make it flow much better, not much restriction,
it does sound better
