Default 2.5 vs 3" front level

This is for my wife's 07 CCSB. I've already got some 99-07 blocks for it (thanks Robert ) and need something for the front. I know the CCM kit is popular but I need more feedback on pros/cons of the 3" kit. Need to hear actual scenarios if possible. I'm going to need the 3" to clear the tires I want but can possibly make it work with 2.5 with more trimming. The front end of the truck is tight and has no issues, I'd like to keep it that way.

I'll be putting true 33x12.50x20 Toyo M/T's on stock GMC 20's so the backspace will be in my favor.

i had issues with CV boots with my 3". I haven't had any ball joint or tie rod issues to date. Since yours is 2wd you should be good..

Good to hear, how long have you been running it that way?

Being 2wd has its advantages sometimes I guess the roughest thing this truck sees is speed bumps in the parking lot where she works. this all started because it needed tires and asked what she wanted. All down hill from there lol

I'm a glutton for punishment, what can I say

I've been looking for an excuse to do something to this truck really. After the tires and lift, it'll need gears, some trans help, tuning etc.... She just opened up a can a worms and she has no idea how deep that can is

Go with the CCM, best money out there for a leveling kit. If you really want it to ride like a caddy though you need to get the Rancho quiklift struts, my ride is awesome. As with any leveling kit, the ride will be a bit harsh when you go over bumps that require downward travel. Of it ends up bothering you a lot you can throw some cognito UCAs on there with limiting straps and it'll be back to factory ride quality. Remember you're going to eat BJs faster with a leveling kit so be prepared.

I ran that setup for about 2 years.. In December I switched, I'm running Bilstein 5100 struts that provide 1.75" lift. Then I added a 1" spacer to the bottom of that. So a total lift of 2.75"

Ive got a 3" kit I took off cause it was causing too many ball joint and cv issues. I'm running the ccm 2.5" now and I'm good so far and I didn't really look too much clearance.
