welp i have the mount finished and installed. truck drives like before, just doesnt have a speed limit of 100 anymore. its been 125 with MINOR vibrations. i think its bc the rear end is dropped a little but i never adjusted the pinion to match. i made sure my front shaft was level and that was it. i used a 1330 to 1350 conversion u-joint. very simple. keep in mind this is a STOCK driveshaft out of a 99-02 2wd ecsb with the 4.8/5.3. i did not balance this dshaft at all, just swapped u-joints, made the bracket, swapped it in.

it drives too good for me to balance the driveshaft, it's not like i drive 130+ all the time ya know? i only trap 105ish in the 1/4 mile so i think im ok. i do want to me 2 saftey loops for just incase, but have them to where they bolt in.

when i was looking at buying a new truk a bunch of the 5.3 6 spds had 3.08 gears in them... i would NEVER buy that ... my dodge ram 4.7 CC work truck had 3.23 and it was HORRIBLE, its a freaking truck... i think fords the only people who understand gear ratios..... and i am not a ford guy

i dunno, everyone is trying to have the best gas mileage in a truck. honestly, if you want a gas saver buy a hybrid or some other compact car. a truck isnt meant to be a gas saver, its meant to haul stuff and be a truck when needed. i can still pull anything, and i use my truck as a truck not a "gas saver"

Are the 2010 models having this issue also?

I have only had mine up to 99 a few times as that is where the factory speed limiter shuts it down...that will all change in the near future so I am concerned with this problem as well.

if you have a 1 peice dshaft on an ecsb/ccsb you have the same problem no matter what year it is

Quick Reply: 1 peice dshaft to a 2 peice dshaft
