Unhappy 09 5.3l oil consumption test update

Hi agin a while back I posted about my 09 gmc 5.3l burning oil at startup and how thay where going to do the 500 mile interval oil consumption test to check oil level. Well at the first 500 miles thay said the oil level was good now today with just 1200 miles on the oil thay said the oil level was a whole 2 quarts low. It burnt 2 quarts in 700 miles this dont look good what say you guys?. Thay told me thay will have to get word on what to do next im guessing word from GM not sure. Eny way he siad he is pretty sure a new valve cover would do the job if thay go that rought but he also said possibly if the valve cover dont work then mabe all new pistons and rings or something called (The fix). eny way ill keep yous posted thanks for the help.

Yeah left valve cover and deflector for the AFM relief valve in the pan. Then if that doesn't help pistons and rings. Done quite a few here in the last year. Oil control rings have been stuck on alot of them.

If it wants to be an oil burner, let it. It's telling him it wants a duramax.

Well got the truck to the dealer today and got the new valve cover on. Thay replaced the one on the left bank. On the rpo it says valve cover per campaign what ever that means. Eny way thay toped the oil off agin and are now going to continue the 500 mile oil check interval to see if its fixed.
