08 Sierra skipping
#1
truck has 225,000 miles and started skipping at part throttle. No SES light but it is definitely annoying.
the engine is a 6.0 with 40,000 miles and this has happened before when it is hot ( NW Fl ) I’m thinking coils or old wires.
I ordered the Denso “performance coils” from Rock Auto. Has anyone run these before?

Do you have a scanner? You can log misfires to see if it is isolated to a cylinder or bank before it throws a code. That will help narrow down the culprit. I doubt it is a coil though. Have you gotten gas from one of the hundreds of new gas stations going up in the area? Does it only skip at lower fuel levels?
Being a 2008 with a 6.0L swap, still running a 4L60? Could be transmission related too.

Usually if something electronic is out of parameters enough to cause issue, it will pop a code. If it is intermittent or short enough duration, it may only show as a pending code which does not set the light. You can still see the pending code with a scanner though.

found a spark plug wire that the metal clip over the spark plug was broken, it felt funny when I put plugs in, and part of the ignition coil harness pinched. probably from when I put the BTR valve covers on
