I need to do this eventually too on my new truck. Was running a 28K true-cool on my 07 and it worked great.

Thats an awesome drop in temps. The highest I've seen on my Tahoe is 212* I was going to go with a 40k also but moved to a much cooler area so I bought the smaller 20k instead. I hope to be running around 170* also.

With a stock converter it should run cooler than 170. Driving normal on cold days mine struggles to go over 100
