Well I do have the MCG shocks on the rear. It seems to ride fine but like I said before haven't been in any lowered trucks to compare it to. But if I could get it to ride nicer I am willing to try another shock. JB what do you suggest? Should I change the front shocks too? What are shock extenders about?

 

MCG actually redesigned that rear shock about 6 months ago (or had someone else make it) so you should be fine.

 

Shock extenders mount to the axle and place the shocks more upright, instead of laying flat like they are now since the rear end was lowered. If the rear rides too bouncy, the shock extenders help get rid of the bounce.

 

Drove the truck all over north east houston today. Probably drove about 150 miles. It bottomed out once on a country road, smooth road with one of those little dips wasn't too bad but its somethingn I have to fix. I read on here about a crossmember on the bed or something like that over the rear end that you cut out for more rear end trave? Not even sure if that applys to a 7" rear drop. I am also not sure about the ride quality. It seems to be really stiff in the *** kinda bouncy. I don't expect it to ride like a lincon but just want it to be the best it can be. So should I go ahead and notch and try out some shock extenders and some high end shocks?

 

Or just get some air shocks...

 

NO!!!

Do not get air shocks. I have had them on my truck and I HATED them. They ride WAY to soft even when you put a **** load of air in them. Go with helper bags. They help out WAY more then air shocks.

 

I have the Belltech Street Performance shocks on the rear of mine. I've only bottemed out twice, once was cuz I wasn't paying attention and hit a bump way to fast and the other was cuz my bike was in the back of my truck. I don't have any shock extensions or a C-notch. Like you said, its not gonna ride like a Caddy, but i'm happy with mine.

I know it won't ever ride like I caddy and thats ok. So no air shocks. I am going to try the shock extenders and bust out with a notch. I just cant stand that sound when the axle whacks the bump stops. The hood is made by Reflexxion. Most don't like the new look and it does look weird in photos. I was unsure about it when I first got it but man it looks first class in person
