Default A Z71 decal question

I have a 00 Z71 with the older style Z71 on the sides. I want the newer Z71 badges on the sides, but i'm wondering if there is too much involved to have the dealership do this. Like painting...or things of that nature. If that is what they have to do then i'm going to wait because I have a couple of scratches I need to take care of back there too. So basically I was just wondering if anbody had this done, and knows what it would cost, and whats involved. Thanks for any help.

It would be really nothing to change the stickers. You might se some discoloration in the paint since the sticker areas wouldn't have faded any and would be scratch free. Some good rubbing compound should take care of that.

Tkanks big tex , would you know how much the dealers shop usually charge's to do this? I've never heard of anyone doing it on here so I really dont know what to expect to pay for this? Sounds like a good apperance modd to me though.
Also i'm thinking about taking the GMC and the SIERRA badges off of the tailgate, and placing a little side badge Z71 from a Z71 tahoe on the right rear of the tailgate. Any opinions???

OR....

you could just put Z71 stickers everywhere there's a scratch or free space.

Z71!

Never thought about that, but I think i'll just stick to changing my old style to the newer ones, with the little Z71 badge on the back. But hey thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind.

Hey dude the decals are vinyl so they are easy to change. Just peel the old ones off, start at a corner with your fingernail, it will help to heat them up a little by putting your truck in direct sunlight, or a hairdryer would be an alternative method, then peel them off and hopefully they won't leave any adhesive behind or you have to clean it off. Clean the area with very mild diluted dish soap and dry it to prep for the new decals. Then use some kind of masking tape to make straight lines around where the sticker will be. Go over the area with a lint free towel or tack cloth. Now peel the protective backing off the decal and line it up perfectly on one side. Now use something straight and flat like a spatula or something to go slowly across the sticker from left to right and keep any bubbles or kinks from getting in it. Then go across it a couple more times to stick it good before you peel the top protective coating off and you are done. Rinse Lather Repeat.

Sounds like you have done this before. How did you know excatally where to place the new stickers on the bed? Was there lines left over from the old stickers for you to use a referance , and to help guide you to know where to put the masking tape? Or should I try to get some measurements say from the tail light to the sticker, or somthing of that nature. If I screw it up are the new stickers hard to take off and re-apply making it that I would have to git new ones? Thanks for the help.
