Default Wrecked my truck, is it automatically totalled because of water damage?

Anyone know if this truck will be totalled because of the water damage? I won't get to talk to the insurance guy until Monday, and I made sure to get plenty of pics of the truck before the tow truck pulled it out of the culvert. I'm not sure what the procedures are for determining flood damage so if anyone knows anything, please post.

A relative was driving the truck and they hydroplaned on a curve at about 45 mph, then the truck slid about 30 yards in the muddy ditch until hitting the culvert and rolling onto its side. They were only shook up a bit, thankfully. Here are is a pic.

If repair costs exceeds 75% of the vehicle's value, it can be classified as salvage. However, it would depend on your state's code & insurance company. I've heard of lesser damage being classified as "total losses".

If water makes it to the dash....which in your case it did, most insurance companies will total it. Once water gets in all those connectors in the dash it can lead to problems months and years down the road. You will be better off if they total it.

I wouldn't want it back. Every electrical connection is begining to rust as you read this. Pull off anything you added aftermarket before the insurance guy shows up and tell him you want it totaled.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot the mention the only body damage was the bedside, bumper, and roof. The small amount of body damage was my concern because I know the electrical system could become a nightmare if they were to try repairing it.
