wont idle right????

Default wont idle right????

i have a 2000 black single cab swb 4.8. when i try to start it most of the time it takes a few cranks then fter started you haft to give it gas for a while or it will die out then it levels out after about 20 sec of giving it gas. it gets really annoying, like when someone complments on my truck and when i start it up it bearly runs!! whats the prolbem????

Have you cleaned the throttle body and IAC?

+1, also, check the fuel pressure regulator for leakage, it's in the center of the driver's side fuel rail. Pull the vacuum hose off of it and check for the presence of fuel. If gas drips out or there is a strong odor of fuel, the fpr is leaking and needs replacement.

Id have to agree 100%...I bet its the FPR, my 2000 would do that when I would start it up and you'd really have to keep workin the throttle to keep it running...I replaced the FPR and I was good to go...

cleaning the IAC is def something worth doing as well...mine was black and covered in carbon, really help out smooth out idleing
