will 80e fit my 01 silverado??

I have an 01 Silverado 4.8 ext cab just curious if whenever I decide to rebuild my trans. Can I swap my trans with and 80e with ease?? Is it a direct fit? If not what do I need to do?? Thanks

Need to swap some wiring, get a custom transmission crossmember and shorten the driveshaft a little bit.
