why do people say that a 02 5.3 is faster than an 00-01 5.3?

So like someone asked. If got an HP tuner or a custom tune. It would compensate and would matter anymore right. And if the cam changed a little in the 02 and you threw in also a cam it would matter also right? Thats what I am thinking anyways.

how do you get rid of false knock? because I have a 99 5.3L

I have a 01 and I ran 14.9 stock. I put hypertech, exhaust and intake and ran a 14.6. I probably could have ran better than 14.9 if it wasnt so hot that day.
I dont neccesarily believe that they run better.
