Default where's the temp sensor?

Where is the sensor for the temperature reading displayed on the rearview mirror?
I got in my truck the other day and it said it was 111 degrees! After I drove a block or so it was down to 97, which I think was accurate.

Also, is that the light sensor front-and-center on the dash?
