Default Where can I get a Hood insulating pad ?

I was going through the gears last night when the serpentine belt disintegrated. In the process it caused a lot of damage to the hood insulating pad and I want to replace it.

Do I have to go to the dealer or do you know of some place that would sell them . Thanks, Jim

Go to your nearest bone yard/salvage yard and pick one up for little or nothing. Or if you like, you could order the reflective mat that you can put under the hood, you can find that at the bigger speeds shops, if you know what I mean.

That reflective pad would probably have to be cut to fit. We sold it at Super Shops when they were in business. It came in a roll.
Either the dealer or like he said, salvage yard. You may find one in good shape there.

The same thing happened to mine when the crank pulley walked off a little. My wholesale cost from the dealer was $50. Mine wasn't that bad so I just took some black spray paint and touched it up so it wasn't as noticable. Maybe I'll buy one one day.

Painting mine is not an option this time I tore it ALL up. All I did was wind it up a bit... 5500 or so. It still wont' wind past about 55 or 5600. Nelson can't get the puter to not red line at about 5600. Says he's tried about every thing but it still just shuts down at about 5500.... takes a nose dive, won't even shift into second as the shift point is set higher. It just starts missing and won't wind any more. But that didn't cause the belt to blow up.

I just called Chevy garage... $54. Not terrible, just enough to kinda **** a guy off a little. Now I gotta get a replacement for my spare belt. Life is tough and then you die. Thanks Jim .... carrying on bravely telling everyone that everything is just FINE. FINE FINE FINE. SIMPLY ******* LOVELY
