A posi and limited slip are the same thing. They use clutches to apply torque to both wheels when one slips. Posi-track was just a name that GM used years ago for their clutch type LSD.

A true locker (many will argue the the factory G80 isn't a true locker) engauges metal plates together to totally lock the rear end when one wheel slips and will stay locked untill torque is released.

IMO the G80 is a true locker. I've never had it slip either side yet. I get badass traction with it too.

when you start looking into lockers too you'll find that there's mechanical, electrical, and air lockers. a lot of rock crawlers use air lockers along with a compressed nitro bottle (its either nitrogen or co2 I forget).
you'll also see what they call "spools". basically with a spool there is no planetary gear and carrier, the pinion drives the ring which drives both tires at the same rate all the time. spools are not for street.

hope the info helps
