Default what would you do?

i have an 05 ccsb with the 5.3, and following mods
superchips programmer
slp 160 ts
tb spacer
coolant bypass
gibson headers
k&n intake
granatelli mass airflow sensor
custom 3" flowmaster camaro set up at rear of truck/ flowmaster where sparetire used to be.
truck has 3.23 open rear.
I ran a 15.8 at 88mph in vegas, and my question is when go to 4.10 posi should i see a signifacant differace in time. my reaction time was shiity, but it was my first time to track, time of .999. This truck i know is heavy but seems to run well for what it has, more of top end right now with these gears. everyone i talk to here says the times are usually higher in vegas because of air density is this true, and should i run faster somewhere else?

With 4.10's you will see a drop of 3-4 tenths and a drop in mph also.

I would put the stock MAFS back in and sell the GRAnatelli MAFS.

Headers and a stall converter could drop another 3/4 of a second, a tune could take up to another 1/2 second away.
You are leaving alot on the table with the stock tuning, go 100% TM removed.

peace

i would:

sell the tb spacer because they dont do anything but hurt the wallet and make a cool whistle.

sell your programmer to get a custom tune. nelson performance and wait for me tunes are great tunes and will do alot more than any hand held tuner. study up and figure out which tune is best for you. (i have nelson and LOVE it.

sell the granatilli MAF and put the stocker back in. granatelli(sp?) is known snake oil and the factory MAF is more than capible to supply enough air for your engine. those MAF's bring rain on ebay to other enthusiasts who dont know any better $$$$$$. DONT DESCREEN YOUR FACTORY MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR!!!

use the money on sold parts to do a gear swap that you mentioned with a posi to get that heavy *** truck going off the line. use the remaining money from sold parts to buy a better flowing muffler such as magnaflow, dynomax, hooker aerochamber, etc etc unless your just hooked on the flowmaster sound. they flow better than stock but not as good as a straight through muffler like the above mentioned.

your truck does put down some damn good times for the mods and weight. your reaction time dosent hurt the 1/4 times. the clock dosent start until you cross the line so a better reaction time wont help your 1/4 times as far as the clock is concerned. it will help you get out in front of the racer next to you though and get the winners light.

stick around the forums and read up! there is TONS of info here that will lead you to your goals. and welcome to the forums

Well said txsilverado! Damn man, i wasnt going to put much performance stuff on my truck but after seeing his time in his crewcab, i could probably get mine to roll pretty good with the similar mods.
