Default What size tires for a 4/6 drop? 20s or 22s

Trying to decide what im going to run for wheels. The truck lowered 4/6 and is 4x4. Im building a 6.0 this winter and its either going to have a decent sized cam and heads or try to pick up a mp112 or tvs1900 and do a blower cam. Either way, it will eventually have some power. Not going to be taken to a drag strip, just a fun part daily, part toy for the summers.

Im either going to run 20s or 22s. I know 20s are lighter and would give me a little more sidewall and better traction, but with 4x4 im not to worried about that.

What tires would be recommended for something like this? I love my Nitto 420s on my tahoe, would those be alright? or do I need to look into something a little more performance oriented?

How are the Nitto NT555 tires? They are a little more expensive than I was hoping, but how are they?

What size tires for 20s or 22s? Im hoping to be around 29-30 overall tire size.I have 3.73s and plan to keep those. MAybe I should stay closer to a 29" tire for performance? I just want them to fill up the fenders a little bit and not look tiny.

255/45/20 is just over 29 and about 160 cheaper for a set than 255/50
A 255/50/20 is about 30"
a 265/40/22 is about 30 as well

any help would be awesome. Thanks guys

Edit- seems like the 420s would be a better choice with more than double the treadwear rating of the nt555.

A 295/40/20 will be ~29.3" tall and there are several good performance tires in that size. It is really all speculation until you pick a wheel and know what width you are working with. A 275/45/20 is another popular size for a narrower wheel that will be ~29.8" tall.

If I go with 20s, they will either be a stock wheel, or a 8.5.

22 will be on a 9" TBSS replica

no Nittos in a 275/45/20. What else is a comparable tire? Like I said, I love my 420s. I have probably 40k on them and they are still half tread

On my factory 20s I really like the 275/40/20. They are 28.6" tall and just look perfect to me. On the replica 22x10 I have the 285/35/22 sumitomo and the tire itself is the worst Ive had for traction. Im only 2wd though.

any pictures of the 275/40? you are a little lower than me. Id like to be lower, but with 4x4 my front cv angle is already questionable with arms and drop keys

another question, I know 22s are heavier than 20s, but how much is that really gonna hurt me? Like I said, i doubt ill ever find a drag strip to run it at, just going to be something to mess around with and suprise a few people on the weekends. I cant get my thoughts off the TBSS reps. I wish they came in a 20 and it would be a done deal

Also, non directional is going to be key to be able to keep them fairly even
