Cody, you dont need to worry about it! You know that thing will never run! They wont get far I'm sure!
Anyways, air horns! Big ones! They don't stick around for too many obnoxious noises like that. Then get a small battery back up for the theives that think disconnecting the battery will kill the niose.
Other than that, direct kill switch, like mentioned above, a fuel pump relay switch (sounds like I may need to look into that) ,or Lo-Jack.
Some crooked wrecker could always just hook up to it and go. That's where Lo-Jack may come in handy.

I thought those were easy to get around by shoving a potato into it.
I could have sworn it looked just like that.

Guys

I really like the Ideas that you have come up with but here is a bit of info if your truck gets taken. The above mentioned insurance company is crap. They will nickle and dime you to death in the event of a claim. Make sure that you have full coverage but you need a rider for all of your additional customization. Usually you have to state an amount so you can get back what you have in it. You will usually have to list most of your big expensive stuff. It will cover anything from your radio and amps to motor and tranny swaps. I added $10,000 in additional coverage for my 1991 and it was about $40 bucks a year more than I was paying.

Most alarm places sell them. Its just run in series with the ignition switch and its just basically a relay. You push down whatever switch so that the ignition circuit can be completed and you can start your truck.

i read about that too, looks pretty elaborate. the potato thing might work, but someone would have to stack out your truck for a while to figure out you had one then bring a potato with them. all for a truck. i dont think people would bother that much

I know a guy that had a GMC Typhoon that had one of these hooked to his cigeret lighter. You had to push it in to start the truck. He was out at a night club out here and in the parking lot. Two guys came up to him and started to ask about the truck. Another guy came from behind him and knocked him out with a blow to the head. He was barely awake but, he remembered that they had took his keys and where trying to start the truck for awhile and couldn't. That was the only thing that saved his truck. This works pretty good.
