Default What to do?

Well the time is coming where Im looking to get serious with power for the truck, but I dont want to go FI right away and I have a few ideas brewing. So here they are, tell me which to go with or simply give me another idea

I can get a 5.3 core from a buddy for free, I was thinking I could get this bored out to LS1 specs, throw in a crank and stroke it out to a 383? some good heads, tr224 cam, stall, etc

or

buy a 6.0 for about 1400 dollars pull that apart bore and stroke it to a 408, cam stall etc.

For some reason I can see the route with the 6.0 costing more but Im not sure, what do you guys think?

Do the 5.3 core and then do a stroker kit. Bad ***! it will be cheaper then the LQ4, IF money is not a problem then do the LQ4 build it up and make it completely awesome.

1 for the 6.0 build, 1 for the 5.3, anyone else care to vote?

I say do the 408, but you'll want to put a 4L80E behind it as the 60E won't last very long behind a 408, so the price tag will be considerably more expensive than the stroked 5.3 build.
