This morning I went and started my truck up (-26c), and it started making a loud sqealing noise like a slipping belt, turns out to be the heater motor, turned it off, then back on and it was fine.

It was cold, but its a dry cold so you really don't feel cold, it just hurts.

It was in the low single digits here on Sunday morning, truck cranked slow, but no problems. It was 12 degrees f at game time for the Bears game, and we tailgated first! 5 hours out in the cold overall, not to mention running all night on the fire dept. Not looking forward to jan/feb, but I have been there before. Might even go to the Januray game against the Packers if I can get tickets.

My old truck would make a noise kind of like that...

Mine sounded just like a kazoo when I started it. It was a pretty common problem, that people traced down to the power steering pump/pulley. I think there was some TSB or other GM bulletin about it...

When I started my truck At -2 degrees it sounded like Frosty installed
a different cam. Cold temp and little traction makes my truck run like
it has more HP.

I hate winter.

The coldest its ever been here is -12 I think. I started my truck in it about two years back. I had two batteries for my stereo so it turned over just fine, the motor was quiet since it was a 96 sbc, but the p.s. pump was making an awful noise, sounded like it had no fluid, probably was froze.

You Cali and Fla guys are making me jealous. I'm moving!
