what is a 2-step and how does it work?
MODS: if this belongs somewhere else please move it to where it belongs, i didnt quite know where to put this
what does a 2-step do and how does it operate?
i have searched this forum all the way back to 2003 and cant find a single thread that explains what it actually does.
i searched google and it has nothing about what it does only explaining what a launch control is on expensive/complicated cars or how to dance
from what i can gather from context and limited info from google, it us usually used on turbo setups to heat up the turbo to be able to build boost on the line, how? i dont have a fooking clue...
another part said something about it being a modification to the ignition system and firing every other cylinder when activated.
from what i gather from context, it seems that most times it is used in addition to a trans-brake and/or a line lock. i know what they do, but cant seem to find much info on a 2step.
do you need a specific type of setup to gain any benefit from these?
any help in clarifying this is appreciated, i feel stupid for having to ask about it but i see it mentioned fairly often and want to know what kind of benefit it has and how it works.

been outta the scene for a while. been stayin on a local gun forum mostly. probably gonna get back to work on my truck now, though. feel free to pm me, looks like several things have changed around here.
i tried google btw, and it told me nothing. maybe LS1tech has some answers.
if it does in fact just cut off the ignition to certain cylinders, i can understand what it does. dont really see how that would load up a turbo but ok. i dont have a manual so that aspect doesnt apply to me. what if i had a blower? would that affect anything
