That's probably true. I hated the NBS in 1988. I thought the Chevy ruined a great looking truck. By 1990 I "had to have one" and a bought a brand new one.

Even the Avalanche took a few months to grow on me. Now, I wouldn't have anything else.

They'll grow on people. I didn't like the new chevys a couple of years ago and now I have one. They look like their snarling at you.

Question: Is there a reason why the gm trucks do not come out with H.I.D. lights

I agree with some others, it strongly resembles the Nissan Titan. I don't see anything that makes me think Ford in these trucks. Both exterior and interior look completely different to me.

I see the interior as most similar to Dodge 1500's and the exterior, as mentioned. Ford though? Nahhhh.

Overall, I don't like it yet. The interior is fine because I don't expect it to be a Cadillac. The exterior though... it's lookin' a tad overdone with those buldging fenders. The bed actually reminds me of the HD trucks, aside from the racks/boxes installed inside. I like the fact they kept close on the front bumper, but could do without the open grille idea. The aftermarket will have a field day with these in no time, and people will "customize" these probably more than ever without ever doing bodywork.

If GM continues the "higher power" approach though, these will sell fine, especially if they get good figures for fuel economy.

I like it, you guys criticizing will more than likely own one sooner or later. So start getting use to the change. It's for the better anyway. The aftermarket will be all over them soon if not already.
I'm sure the brakes are 4-wheel disc brakes again too!
For the 6.2L in a single cab truck question, NO. They will never do it.
You would have to do the swap yourself to have it.
I can't wait to see the final outcome in the next few years with the reputation of the new trucks.
I would buy one, but I've already spent way too much money on mods for my current truck to give it up now.
I'll just keep it until someone wrecks it or steels it.
I think GM did a good job. There is always something to complain about with any new bodied vehicle. There is no perfect truck or car to everyone as a whole. Everyone will have there own opinions and expectations.
