Cool Is it weird that my truck has Gt5?

Hey guys when i first got my truck tuned with hp tuners it said 4.10s. So i thought no its just messed up, well a tech and i were talking and he asked what gears my truck had. I told him stock 4.10s and he said no way and asked for the vin. I gave it to him and sure enough i was right. We even checked the RPO code in the glove box and it shows gt5. How common are 4.10s in a rcsb? Almost everyone i know has 3.42s. Anyone else on here have a 1500 with factory 4.10s? Just thought it was cool that i had them and didnt have to spend money on them later on down the road.

I'd say it's pretty rare, but possible with a Z71. The original owner probably special ordered them.

it was not uncommon with 4x4...especially pre-05 when the gas crunch hit

Yep. 4WD shipped with either 3.42, 3.73, or 4.10, and 2WD shipped with either 3.23, 3.42, or 3.73.

Looking forward to swapping my 3.23 for a 4.10 or 4.30 one of these days.

Yeah, I didnt know 4.10 were offered in a 1500. Pretty cool stuff, and for all the people not wanting to swap to 4.10s cause of mpgs. Its really not that bad running down the highway at 70-75 puts me around 2000-2500 rpms and with my current mods. i think im getting around 18 mpg.

every reg cab sportside 4x4 5.3L I see around here has 4.10s. i thought it was some sort of silent performance package for the sportsides. I'll check the fleetsides when they come into the shop to see how many have 4.10s also.

What year is your truck? I had never heard of any 1500 other than an SS or Denali getting 4.10s. 3.23s were never an option until recently, like 05 or so I thought.

Nice, I didn't even know that they offered 4.10's in reg cab 1500's...mine's a 99 Z71 and it came factory with 3.73's...factory 4.10's would have been sweet
