I dont know the exact term for it, but yea, a 2004 2WD factory LQ9 Ext Cab. It's easier to say 04 2WDSS.

commonly called an 04' VHO. also known as 2004 2wd extended cab with LQ9.

as far as running 87 octane i that. you can, it's just fine. once it has enough KR* it will go to the low octane table, lose fuel milage, and lose power. from there it drives like a normal truck not the performance truck you paid for.

I need better than 12.5 mpg. The window sticker says 23 HYW?

I can get 20 if I drive slow with cruise control on in my VHO. Maybe you have better gearing.

you can definitely get more than 12.5mpg. going 90mph cruise control gets about 15.5mpg windows down no a/c. 20 is a very reasonable number.

Your 1500 HD doesn't have the same engine.

I have a 2007 classic, 6.0 vortec max and the owners manual recommends 91 octane. I've used 87 octane for 250k miles no problem. But boy when you put that 93 octane, It runs a lot smoother and has a lot more power.
