To be the devils advicate, it seems like a lot of you want to tell others how to raise a kid... and apparently deciding what your kids first car is... will be a HUGE decision.
I thougt this was a conservative strong hold... but it looks like all of the psychology teachers are here now.

I'm 17 and drive one of these trucks. I guess my dad made a terrible mistake and I should give it back to him so I can drive a beater? Maybe this way I'll be a better man when I grow up?
**** that.

Definatly not a bad thing. keep doing it. The smell of burning stuff is an indicator that nothing is going wrong.

Damn, i drive my moms car so carefully its incredible. The headache of a blown trans alone would drive her insane.

Actually, I suggest your keep doing it so he gets a new engine and drivetrain under warranty

Just let it be know, if you crash into my truck or anyone I know for that matter- I will have your ******* dipped in glitter hanging from my christmas tree.

I was pretty stupid at 16- but it was my car too. And I was buying my first "real car" within a few weeks. I stopped being an ******* when I saw my bank account drop to almost nothing after several years of saving.
