Utah Truck Lift Laws
#1
Hey guys, I'm moving to Utah soon with my 1996 GMC Suburban that has a 6" lift and 35" tires. I give you the specs because I had heard of there being some strange formula for Utah to tell how high the lift can go. Can anyone help me out here?
I don't want to have to modify my baby.
Thanks in advance for any help.

They change the lift laws a few years ago so that you can have up to 26 inches from the ground the bottom of the frame with up to a 2 inch body lift max. The main thing is to have mud flaps and make sure your tires don't stick out so far. There are trucks around here with 10+ inches of lift so you should have no problem. I have six inches on my truck and never have had a problem. You can find the info on www.utah.gov trenton

Hey thanks for the respone guys. Trdt4444, while I have no problem with putting mud flaps on my truck, I was wondering if I had to have them if my tires didn't stick out past my flares. I know you only have to in California if they go past the flares, but I'm not sure about other states.

one thing you want to watch out for is the height of your headlights. some states have laws about it and they usually dont enforce it here but if they want to be a butt about it they can. a friend of mine put on an extra set of headlights onto his front bumper to meet reqmts
