The first one is I'm leaving work after a crappy day and find the rear driver side ext cab door window busted IN. At first I think I got ripped off but that wasn't it. A NASTY storm blew into Northern California and the wind was HOWLING, 50 mph plus. I guess the window vibrated enough to break, there was glass every where and the seat was soaked from the rain. It's going to cost $376.91 to get it replaced Monday morning. My deductable is $240 and I'm not sure it's worth the $125 I'd get back to file a claim and get a ding on my record with the insurance company. Insurance companies a bastards, you have to have it but you don't dare use it or they cancel you. The second is for the second day in a row, the heater core valve has stuck open and the heat won't shut off. It closes when I shut the truck off but I bake while I'm driving if I have to turn the heat on. Where is the heater core valve and is it electric or pneumatic? How bad is it to change one? Thanks for listening!

I don't think the broken window will "ding" your insurance if it's an act of nature. I hit a deer with my last truck and it didn't. But you might could just find one at a salvage yard cheaper. As for your heat, I haven't a clue. Sorry about your luck though. Now I don't feel so bad about my dirty oil filter turning over and getting into my carpet before I could take it to work to inspect it.

Yea, what Jwrench said is right, the window being damaged won't affect your insurance. It's comprehensive damage...something you cant help. Like if you were to hit a deer or in your case, the wind breaking the window.

i wouldn't turn that in, i had 2 comprehensive claims in one year and they did raise my rates. my inusurance guy told me the first one wouldn't effect my rates but the 2nd one might, and it did. i wouldn't make a claim under $1000, just isn't worth it.

Exactly what parish8 said.
Make sure with your insurance agent before you claim something that it won't go against you. LOTS of companies are dropping people for making more than a couple of claims in a year no matter what size claim it is. Don't ask me how I know.
Insurance companies SUCK!!!!!!! IMHO

insurance is a scam. as for your heat you need to know if the temp control is the problem or if it is a problem with the temp door motor. if it the control head that just snaps out the temp door is more involved
