Not in my truck but my wifes 2008 Malibu. The trunk ajar light has come on and stayed on. I cannot see any kind of switch around the latch. I disconnected the battery to see if that would clear it but it did not work. Maybe there is a GM Tech lurking this forum. Any ideas?

 

I am not 100% but I bet those have a switch built right into the latch. There should be wires running to it.
