On the last two trucks I have logged with ls1 fans and a nelson harness they do not hold a steady engine temp... They start running hotter when in stop and go traffic and non-highway speeds.... The reason being is because you can not get a high fan speed with the nelson harness unless the AC is on... Also when the ls1 fans are not sealed against the radiator some of the suction from the fans is not coming threw the radiator is it coming threw the sides and not passing threw the radiator at all...

With all that said if your truck was tunned in cooler temperatures than it is now, more than likely your engine was running cooler then... Since the main table that controls the idle is based off of engine temperature more than likely when you got your tune you did not reach the upper parts of that table... A buddy of mine was having the exact same problem (Cammed, ls1 fans and nelson harness) and adjusting the ENTIRE desired airflow table took care of his problem... your tunner might have just adjusted the cells you hit during your tune.... Now given the texas temps your probably going beyond those cells now...

Just my .02

Does this happen as much when the AC is on?

I'll talk to Allen about this.

Yes, it happens whether the AC is on or off.

IAC Idle Air Control. Used to supply air to the engine when throttle blade is closed. It uses a solenoid controlled pintle to allow air to bypass the close throttle blade to keep the engine from stalling at idle. Located next to TP sensor.
