Default Tranny Problem!!!! Grrrrrr.

what could be wrong? i was driving this morning and went to accelerate and it did then i let off cause a car and then hit it again and then it started to pick up again and then it hit 4800-5000 rpm it just jumped right up to revlimiter after that.( i was on the freeway)

let i let off if and was like what the ****! just lightly tapped the gas and it just free reved! so i slowed down to about 40 and put it in second and it would move/accelarate fine... so i get off the freeway and put it in 1st...works fine! put it in 2nd...works fine! so i only have 1st and 2nd gear!!

btw ((((i would be moving then punch it and it would drop down to 2nd lets say and it would rev out to about 5500 with out really moving then the rpms would drop about 800 rpm and then it take off from about 4600-4700....so it sliped it down from 5500-4700))))) just started to do this about 300-400 miles ago...

sorry for the longer post!! hope i explained it kinda clearly..
thanks for the help!

So you still have 1st, 2nd, and Reverse?

Guess your 2-4 band is not broke. However, it is probably burned pretty bad since its slipping like a ****. Hows the fluid look and smell?

Ahh. Rebuild time i'm afraid. Losing 3-4 while retaining a perfect 1-2 is normal due to how they are designed.
