Default tranny gauge ?

i have a 2004 silverado 1500 4x4 5,3L, 4l65e tranny. it doesn't have a tranny gauge . i want to buy a gauge cluster out of a escalade that has the tranny gauge in it .where does it hook up to the tranny ?? is there somewhere to plug it in. or do i have to weld a bung to the pan & put in a sending unit ??

Everything is already there. When you hook up the new cluster, the gauge will work. The only thing that will not be right is the mileage, unless you have it programmed.

yeah he's right. it'll start working automatically. just get the mileage programmed.

just an FYI: i noticed you're from connecticut. there's a guy on ebay (i dunno his name) that sells remanufactured gauges for escalades and such. search for them on ebay. he is in connecticut. hartford area maybe? cant remember. just thought i'd let you know.

I put just the tranny temp gauge itself in my cluster. A kit from US Speedo I think. Just solder it in and came with the needle and overlay. Looks just like stock.
