Default Tongue weight..... What the hell does that mean?

My monday morning drive in just kind of made my day. Saw an F-150 Ext Cab (2003 Style) pulling a large enclosed trailer. Might have been about 25 or 30ft long. He was going kind of slow and cautious.

Anyway, pulled on by to pass and I was like OH ****. He was way over loaded and had bent the **** out of his truck frame. The top of the bed by the cab was 4 or 5 inches from the cab, and the bottom of the bed was touching. Looked like the frame was bending right where the cab and bed meet. The bed had also started to wrinkle as it pushed on the bottom of the cab. The front of the trailer near the hitch was about 6 inches off the ground while the rear was a good 12.

I thought I would be nice, so when we got to some slow traffic, I motioned for him to come on by and I honked my horn to roll down the window. He slowed down and rolled his down and I said hey man, your trailer is bending the hell out of your truck frame. He said yes, I know...... I got the impression that I was not the first person to stop and tell him that.

I wish I had my digital camera with me. It was a mess.......
