i"m putting my ford keys on this weekend i'm wondering how much space to leave between the stopper and the upper control arm? And will 285/75/16 tires work on 2001 1500 GMC 4X4? Thanks for any info

I ran 285s with no problems on my 99. I used the ford keys for a while, but also just raised the torsion bars when not running the ford keys. Its the same result, but the ford keys allow you to turn them up even more. Ride quality went to hell with the ford keys installed. Crank the torsion bars before buying the keys. If it works enough for you, then save your $$$ and time by skipping the ford keys.

What is the part number on those keys? What model year(s) do they come off of?

I'm fuzzy on the whole key thing, I understand that the new ones are for raising the front up, do they have ones that will keep the ride/handling the same, if you wanna lower the front, just maybe an 1" or so?

Belltech makes keys that allow you to go down 2.5-3", pretty low compared to a stock height 4 buh 4.
