Thoughts on purchasing a higher mileage truck?

So I'm back in the market for another winter beater (shouldn't have sold my last one). Was just looking at autotrader, and came across a truck that has a clean record, and looks like it was well taken care of. Only problem is its a 2001 with 226,000 miles.
Here is a link to it:

Is it even worth taking a look at for it being a secondary / winter truck, or just keep on looking?

Thanks

4wd with that many miles its gonna have some issues maybe. id see who owned it. make sure that it wasnt abused and beaten on.

according to carfax it says 2 owners, but looking at the history its really only 1 owner from PA (not sure where). The truck is now for sale at a use dealer lot, and was purchased at auction.

as long as you dont see anything concerning, parts for these trucks arent too exspensive
these trucks can take a lot of abuse, i wouldnt hesitate to get a high milage truck

looked it over yesterday, test drove it today. Its honestly in better shape than trucks with half the mileage. So I got it... $4300

Good work! Mine is a '00 1/2ton with 195,000 and it runs like a dream. As long as it has had good maintence and has been taken care of shouldn't have any problems.
