Voodoo High Lift Hydraulic Roller Cam - GM LS GEN III/IV 270/274 - Lunati Power

Good cam choice or not??

I have a 06 GMC CC 4wd vortecmax, 4.10s, 33s, 1&3/4" ARH LTs, vette servo, Trucool 40k, CAI, blackbear tune..main purpose of the truck is daily driving with some towing, and Occasional track time for fun..just looking for more power all around, torque is important to me seeing how the truck is a heavy slug..ive been checking around for converters, im thinking a triple disc would good, seeing how ill be towing some of the time..

for me it seems like a good cam for your 6.0. my only problem is the lift on it. its been a while but i think i remember reading that stock heads don't flow much more past like .550-.600 lift and just having a really high lift can wear the valve train faster. i would be more inclined to get the lower lift one but that is just me.

more or less close to the same specs but a hair shorter.

Really like the duration on that cam. However, I agree the lift is a little overkill with stock heads. I think you are on the right track converter wise. A 3400 triple disk would work nicely especially with that cam or similar ones. 218/222 .598/.602 LSA113 on LXL lobes would be my suggestion.

Ok thanks guys..what about the lsa?? Say i wanted a little chop to it..would having the cam ground om say a 110-111 lsa be ok??..the power should still come in pretty early if i remember right..or would that push the rpm band up higher??

There's no answer specific to when power comes in or signs off based on duration or LSA alone. It's the combo.

How much chop do you want? I have a few videos on my YouTube page of my cam. Take a look at them and tell me if you want more chop than that, less, or if you think it's ok. Keep in mind I had a very tame exhaust system prior to going to a 4".

Also, do you have any ideas as far as wide open throttle shift points?

I like the second cam for you better than the first.

That lift is steep IMO for a daily driver. The tighter lsa shorter duration is the way to go on a heavy truck like that. We recently did a 210/216, .532/.532, 108 that picked up a 5.3L CC SB with stock converter and exh manifolds picked the truck up 5+ lengths in a identical race. Pulls from 2000-6500 + rpm in the 5.3 with mild ls6 springs. That would make huge tq in a lq9.

this is the cam in a 5.3l i would imagen it would be a tad tamer in a 6l

id like just a slight more than what you have in those vids..the second cam mentioned is a 113 lsa, yours in the vids is a 114 lsa so it might be perfect..i havent thought about wot shift points with the cam, id say maybe anywhere from 6100-6300 would be fine??

5.3 blazer lunati voodoo cam - YouTube

thanks for the vid! Sounds great!! Thats chop id like to have..nothing radical, but enough to be able to hear it..if its a little milder in a lq9 thats fine, as long as it makes great power
